Rainy days and Mondays......

Did you sing that? It's a rainy, cold Monday here in South Carolina. Great gloomy day to stay inside, watch TV and crochet! I spent the last couple of days searching for another crochet project to make. I hate not knowing what to work on. All that lovely yarn and no pattern! So, I attempted to understand the instructions for the Cath Kidston Flower Hexagon by Suregal27 on Instagram. There is a YouTube video but I can't understand what the lady is saying, but I can "read" her hands and crochet hook! Here are two blocks I finished.....
I finally finished the Lilliana afghan. This thing is huge! I used I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby.

Craig brought Della and Maxel over yesterday. Holly wasn't feeling well and kept Amelia with her.

Justin and his crew stopped by Craig's Friday to scrape his driveway. He sent me this picture of Amelia.
This is Ashton's son, Josh. He is ALL boy!
That's all for now. Stay safe and warm!

What's new?

WOW! With Facebook and Instagram, it's getting harder and harder to remember to blog! I only keep my blog because it's my electronic diary or journal.
Today is my second grandson's 16th birthday. He has really grown into a handsome young man. He and his brother, Gavin, lives with us. This is his birthday present from me and Justin. What a lucky kid!
He also has a truck, even though he hasn't gotten his licence yet. No, we're not made of money! Justin got it through his many contacts at work.
It used to look like this.....
Declan will probably be the next one to get a 4-wheeler.

Della and Maxel spent the night with us Saturday. Della fell asleep on Grandpa's lap.
I finished my Elements CAL! Yeah!

Hobby Lobby has their yarn on sale for 30% off! I used the last of my Christmas gift card this morning....
This weather is crazy! We had four record breaking days in February! 80 degrees! March came in like a lion with high winds. My tulip tree is still beautiful though.
I still working on my Lilliana afghan. I love this pattern and will definitely make another.

I have about 40 more rows to go. I finished watching the six seasons of "Call the Midwife" while crocheting and am now watching season 2 of " Versailles". For some reason, I love watching shows about the old royalty.
Until next time......

Black roofs matter!

Wow! It's been a month since my last post. Hope you got a chuckle out of my post title and weren't offended, even though I could care less if you were! That's what our roofer told Justin when he was whining about the color. I love the look of my house now. Justin wanted anything but black, but I got my way! New gutters also.
We've got to paint the faux shutters above the door. Here's a before picture from 2013. I'll be glad when the oak tree comes back out.
I finished an afghan for my daughter, Janet. She bought the yarn at Hobby Lobby after Christmas.
Pattern here

I've also been working on the Elements CAL I'll be sewing the side strips on today.

I also finished the Peppermint Throw and gave it to a friend....

That's it for now.

What an eventful week!

This week has been a sad one for York County. One of our local deputies was killed in the line of duty. Three other officers were also wounded but will survive. Please pray for their families.
We also got our first snow of the year Wednesday. It shut schools down for the rest of the week.
Naturally, I kept my ass in the house! Hate snow!!!
I finished my latest graphghan while keeping warm. It was gifted to my husband's business partner. The written pattern can be found in my Etsy shop, CHuffmanCrochet.
I "frogged" this afghan because I wasn't happy with it.....
......and used the yarn to start The Peppermint Throw....
I finished Week 7 of the Element CAL....
I have thought about no longer blogging because I already post on Facebook and Instagram, but decided to keep on for a little longer. Please follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram.
Stay warm and safe.

New Year, new projects

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! We didn't go out but stayed at home and celebrated with family. I got a picture of me and Justin with our seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

The boys (Sloan and Gavin) gave me a tub full of yarn for Christmas! Nine colors, three skeins each!

Justin gave me a new IPad, IPencil (which I returned for a casefor the IPad), and a new Food Saver vacuum sealer.
Micki gave me a set of Pioneer Woman dishes...
I received other great gifts but didn't take anymore pictures. Thanks to all!
New Years Eve fun..... as always, the rednecks have to make a fire!

Sloan and Josh look like twins!

 Checking the truck's battery....
Josh uses the flashlight to check the truck...
Abby and Xander on the tablet......
 I'm on my tablet.............
Rodney tried to get Josh to take a nap.....
 I tried too...
Wrapped up trying to stay warm and keep my eyes open....
 Ashton couldn't keep hers open...
Craig and Holly, their kids, Kayla and Declan weren't here for New Years.
I finished an afghan.....
The pattern is on my Etsy shop.
It's freezing here in South Carolina! I know it's cold all over the US, but we're not used to this cold!
Stay warm!
